How to draw a cartoon Christmas tree
Christmas is one of the multiple wonderful periods of the year! It is a magical occasion where gifts are exchanged, and beautiful colorful decorations are placed in the house and on the streets. One of the decorations most associated with the season is Christmas trees, which can come in many shapes, sizes, and styles! Learning to draw a cartoon Christmas tree is a great way to design the perfect Christmas tree.

How to draw a funny Christmas tree – let’s get started!
Step 1
We will start this guide on how to draw a cartoon Christmas tree with the base of the tree. You can start this with a rounded shape at the bottom. Next, we will draw the trunk of the tree. This will be drawn using two lines that curve inwards and go inside the oval you started with.
Then we will draw the lower branches of the tree. Christmas trees are very thorny and angular, and we’ll draw them using curvier lines with pointy tips on the ends. These pointed shapes will take various sizes, as shown in the reference image.
Step 2
In this second step of the cartoon Christmas tree drawing, we will draw the next section of the tree and add some finer details. To draw the next section, you can continue to draw some curved lines with pointed sections at the ends as you did for the tree’s base. These will also curve a bit inwards as we will be making the tree narrower as it goes. Then add some more pronounced curved lines inside the outline. Finally, draw some texture lines inside the trunk to give it that wood look.
Step 3
You can now draw the next section in this third step of our guide on drawing a cartoon Christmas tree! As we mentioned in the previous step, the tree will get thinner as you go up, which will be true for this part. Otherwise, you’ll do exactly what you’ve done in the previous steps. That means drawing more curved lines with pointy tips and adding some of these details within the outline. Then there will only be one final section of the tree to draw, so let’s cover that in the next step!
Step 4
The most fun part of putting up a Christmas tree is the decorations, but before we can do that, we need to finish the outline first. We will finish the final section of the tree now, and it will get even thinner for this final section. The curved, pointed lines you’ve been drawing for the branches will move inward until they culminate in a thin point at the top.
You can finish this step by drawing the first of the decorations.
This will be a star at the top, a common Christmas tree decoration. Then you are ready to finish some beautiful tree decorations in the next step!

This step of your cartoon Christmas tree drawing will have you with some great decorations! In our reference image, we show you one way to decorate the tree, but there are also many more ways to do it. We’ll go over some of these shapes in this step, but for now, we’ll cover the decorations as they appear in our image.
We used many circular shapes for decorations on the tree and added some pretty stars. Now you can add your cool decorations! These could include things like tinsel wrapped around the tree, or you could add different types of decorations. If you have decorations that you like to use on your real Christmas tree, you could design this tree to look like yours!
